Murchison Falls National Park in Uganda is known for its largest wildlife reserve in the country. This park is known for supporting the four of the Big Five with only rhino being absent. Buffalo and elephant are particularly common. There is a very good looking population of lion that likes to prey on the abundant Uganda kob. Other mammals found here are oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest, Defassa waterbuck, grey duiker and bushbuck. Murchison Falls Park makes a difference because of its historic River Nile that flows through it which makes it to be one of Africa’s Natural Wonders.

Though the park can be visited throughout the year, Dry season (from December to February) is the best time you can visit Murchison Falls National Park when animals congregate around the Victoria Nile and other reliable water sources.

Murchison falls national park is a wonderful place for hikes and nature walks and mainly chimpanzee tracking .The vast landscapes and varied scenery of the park and the nearby Conservation Area can be explored on foot. Trails through Kaniyo Pabidi and Rabongo Forests provide good spots of many primates and birds.

There is sport fishing in the park which is so treasured for the avid angler. There are great opportunities to land a large Nile Perch and Cat-fish. Other fish include Tiger fish, Electric cat-fish, Tilapia.
